Alpaca Buddy . . . . .

Meet Leavin Hill of Quarry Critters also known as "Buddy"

                                                           Leavin Hill of Quarry Critters
                                                                     ARI#31225960
                                                                  We call him "Buddy"

This is Buddy. A five year old unproven  huacaya male. He is the grandson of the famous  PPeruvian Caligula ARI #G4572. Caligula was among the first alpacas to arrive in the country.  If you know your alpaca history than you know the name Caligula is synonymous with excellence.

Buddy will make a fine herdsire yet he is unproven.
Well .........I can only say that for just for a little while
as his first cria should be coming this summer (2013).

I wonder:

What will Buddy's cria be like?                                                                                            Will it be Male or Female?
        What Color?
        Fiber?
        Density?
Crimp?                                                                                                 Will the cria match the color of the mom?

Quarry Critters Alpaca Ranch

We are in this business to improve the breed and I believe that Buddy will do just that.

What do you say?
This could be your open female.

Let’s make a deal.

4 alpacas for the price of 1 female........

Gwen

Gwen has personality as well as wonderful fiber. She is the first in the herd to greet you as you walk into the pasture. She makes a great PR alpaca and friend.

Gwendelyn is being offered as a 4 for 1 price. Meaning that you get 4 alpacas for the price of one. You will get Gwen with her unborn cria, due to arrive in June  2013, along with another breeding to any of our 7 unrelated hersires. To keep Gwen company you can choose 1 gelding from 3 of our gentle, very pleasant, nice, just for fiber boys (non-breeders).

Gwen a beautiful daughter of-one-of-a-kind Peruvian Shazam. Peruvian Shazam a true black, full Peruvian sire was imported in utero out of a magnificent medium brown peruvian female! Gwen is one of the finest Shazam daughters ever produced. She inherited her sires dark color genetics and rare ultra-fine fiber passed on through the true black Shazam.

Gwen is a great mom with plenty of milk and cares for her crias. Gwen's 2011 female cria, named Penelope is on the ranch, very cute, sired by Zephyr and for sale. Come for a farm visit to see for yourself.

Sire: Ace of Hearts

Franklin has straight legs
This luxurious breeding alpaca Franklin comes from a very dense pure Peruvian Sire. Ace of Hearts has a list of champion bloodlines to include Durango, Mr. President and Vengador. Ace has passed not only his promising bloodlines, and dense fiber to his offspring Franklin but also a soft fleece with the micron count of 23.4.
Franklin has a great confirmation including straight legs and a good bite. He has been handled since birth meaning he is easily handled and comes to investigate whats going on around him.
Investigating whats going on

Franklin has potential to be a great herdsire just like his sire Ace of Hearts. He is a dark fawn color with potential to throw color to his offspring.

His dam is Asmerelda and she is black in color. Asmerelda comes from a fiber champion Sukee von Tr. Both sire and dam are descendants of champions.

Sept. 1, 2012

Visitors checking out the herd. Let's take a walk along. . . . . . ..

Meet Banditt, one of the many gentle alpaca geldings on the farm. Banditt. He would love to participate in a 4 H project or a family gathering.

This is Pacha. Father to many of the black alpacas on the ranch. Bay Black in color, see the brown on his legs? His son, Peter is in the picture as well. He is the black alpaca standing to the far right.

Pickett

Pickett closest to camera, Pacha closest to the fence.
Pickett is brother to Pacha through the same father " Shazam".   Banditt, Pickett and Pacha are all available to be included as this months special --- 3 Fiber Alpacas(non-breeders) for one thousand dollars. ---- Other alpacas can be choosen to make up this special, too. (Sept. 2012)

Jingles is an Akbash. That's a turkish guardian dog.
Jingles loves children and a good belly rub.
Let's walk on and meet some more fiber alpacas.(non-breeders)

2011 Cria boys. How grown up they look!
White- Montgomery, Dark brown - Lawrence
Left light brown - Joshua and right light brown  Kemble
These boys are all still intact. Eighteen months or older is the correct age to geld an alpaca.
These boys could be gelded as early as December 2012
or you could decide to use them as stud. They sure are beautiful.

Moving on to the next field of boys . . . .

Franklin front/ George left rear
Franklin is being sold as a breeder. He not only has wonderful fiber, strong bones and great conformation but he is friendly and gentle too. George is still intact and could make a good stud but is being sold as a fiber alpaca (non-breeder).
Franklin left / George right
Now let's walk passed the some female alpacas to get to the 2012 crias.
Here come the girls.
There go the girls.
Here we have Racer.
Look at that face.

What's not to love?
Racer is a 2012 cria
selling as a fiber alpaca
which means you can choose to use him for stud
or geld him based on your breeding program.

Shh.....Shh..... Nursery
Baby "Yankie" just born this morning at 5:15AM (9-1-12)

Happy Wade
Wade is the youngest of our fiber boys. He will need to stay with mom for 6 months. (Feb. 2013) but for now he appears to be very happy.

Our walk is just about over. Here is one of our most friendly alpacas.....
Dorothea Dix also known as Tawney
She loves the visitors to touch and talk to her.

Franklin says, "You all come back now!"
